If a child can`t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.
I like being in P6/P7 because this term we are doing Drama lessons which I am enjoying as we are learning to act.
MATHS IS MY FAVOURITE. I`M GOOD AT DOING SUMS.
I LOVE LEARNING MATHS BECAUSE I FIND NUMBER FACTS INTERESTING, SUCH AS SQUARE NUMBERS, SQUARE ROOT AND CUBE NUMBERS.
BALLYSILLAN PRIMARY SCHOOL HAS NICE TEACHERS. THEY HELP US A LOT.
P.E. IS GREAT. WE HAVE A SPORTS COACH CALLED JAMES.
We aim to build on success not failure, so our children will be encouraged to the full in anything and everything they are good at, or have a keen interest in developing.
Our school is situated in the heart of the community in attractive and spacious grounds with a stunning view of Belfast. Ballysillan PS caters for children from Nursery through to Primary 7. In our school we have 6 full time teachers, 1 part time special needs teacher, 4 classroom assistants and 4 support assistants.
Our committed and enthusiastic staff work tirelessly to nurture and support all our children, helping them to develop the confidence and skills they will need in later life, ensuring every child learns in a secure and happy environment. We strive to instil values of respect for all, and an understanding of rights and responsibilities.
All children, irrespective of their learning ability, are supported through an extensive range of strategies and activities.
AT BALLYSILLAN PRIMARY SCHOOL WE FIRMLY BELIEVE IN REWARDING THE POSITIVE IN ORDER TO NURTURE CONFIDENCE AND SELF BELIEF. WE INSTIL THIS ETHOS BY POSITIVELY REINFORCING THE GOOD, AWARDING STAR OF THE WEEK AND EVEN ENCOURAGING OUR CHILDREN TO BRING MEDALS AND SHIELDS INTO SCHOOL IN ORDER TO CELEBRATE ANY PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS.
In Ballysillan we aim to create a friendly, safe and happy environment for all.
GREAT EMPHASIS IS PLACED UPON CHILD CENTRED LEARNING, DEVELOPING INDEPENDENCE, ACQUIRING SKILLS FOR LIFE AND ENSURING THAT ALL CHILDREN FEEL CONFIDENT AND VALUED IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT.
We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum in line with the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
